Welcome to the 2019 Annual Report. In 2019, WildlifeDirect continued to be at the forefront of changing hearts, minds and laws to ensure Africa's critical species endure forever.

Under the banner of Conservation Alliance of Kenya, over 200 people came together from June 12-14 to address the question, “how can we ensure the management plan commits to protecting the unique, immeasurable ecological value and potential of the park for the public in Nairobi and beyond?”

The Wildlife Warriors Nature’s Treasures Photo Competition Series One has concluded on the theme was Our Wildlife Our Pride which received 104 images from 41 amazing photographers. Since the competition began on March 17th, 2020, it has been 12 amazing weeks of 1051 incredible photos from 246 different photographers.

We are thrilled to launch the Wildlife Warriors Kids weekly newsletter that brings to you content on wildlife and nature in the most child-friendly manner. If you have children or grandchildren, know parents with kids, are a teacher, or are engaged with family groups, please share this.

This week, the Wildlife Warriors Nature’s Treasures Photo Competition on the theme BIZARRE BEAUTIES received 89 photos from 31 different photographers.

This week, the #WILDLIFEWARRIORS NATURE’S TREASURES PHOTO COMPETITION on the theme NON – MAMMAL PORTRAITS received 93 photos from 29 different photographers. The judges were impressed by the quality of the images submitted. 

This week, the #WILDLIFEWARRIORS PHOTO COMPETITION on the theme HUMANS HELPING NATURE received 70 photos from 27 different photographers. The judges were moved by the stories behind each image. This week’s winners captured three different themes of how humans are making the planet a better place by planting trees, rescuing wildlife, and cleaning up our rivers. 

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Switch TV to screen the Wildlife Warriors: Season 1 every Sunday at 2:00 PM (EAT).

This week, the #WILDLIFEWARRIORS PHOTO COMPETITION on the theme A CLOSER LOOK AT NATURE received 167 photos from 63 amazing photographers.  The competition has captured the interest of young photographers as we received 29 captivating photos from 12 young people 15 years and under.

WildlifeDirect launched a letter-writing campaign asking for more time and over 350 people wrote to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Kenya Wildlife Service, and the National Environment Management Authority. The Ministry granted two more months to allow for proper consultation.
